Looks like I may have to fire up the lathe after all. Three for johnny, and 1 for NPike.

Not too bad, I guess, considering I had 2 car lengths notice, @ ~50 kph, that he was pulling, from 0 kph, into my lane. Tagged the passenger door, then the curb ...

Windshield, both mirrors, center & right fairings, valve cover, crank cover.

Notice the white start button (staying on topic  :giggles ).

Question for you, Ed:  What holds the white or green button in place?

My green button head has broken off and the spring flew away somewhere. The green shaft remains. What holds it in, and how do I get it out?

There is a brass(?) contact pin coming up from the bottom. The pin's upper part is knurled and press fit into the green button's tube. The whole thing is held together like a hose on a hose barb, easy to push on but difficult to remove.

The assembly can got at by removing the screw under the start/kill switch. The start/kill assembly is held in that assembly with an 'e' clip. Careful  :yikes:, there are a couple of small springs you don't want to lose. I was going to drill down to the pin to punch it out, but the spring-loaded center punch split the head on the green shaft ... punched the pin out.

ps, too bad you lost the spring ...

Moto kitchen aka 'bwokx' stays up on the mezzanine until it's camping time. It's kept safe by the 2 top boxes when mounted ...

I've decided to 3D print mine. Fired up Fusion 360 and after 13 different tries, (My original button broke, so I was missing a part.) I have a functioning button.

From here I'm going to cast a green one, as I don't trust PLA 3D printed plastic to hold up for long in the real world.
