If Brooks made a saddle to fit a K, I'd definitely buy one. For the other kind of two wheels, there isn't anything else worth considering.

My K came with a Corbin, and it has been comfortable enough, but I don't have anything else to compare it to.

The stock seat is horrible, be glad that you don't have a comparison!  :>

greetings...

i can ride almost any seat for a day... yesser even the stock seat... butts not the evil corbin...

im thinking the issue with any seat... including the stock seat...  is that its not unrideable today... butts that its unrideable after back to back to back to back + days... thats when you find out if you gotts a good seat... after those back to back + days...

j o

Nope. 1/2 day on the stocker and I'm done. Corbin, all day every day, baby.

Years ago, when I had my boxer, I could sit on just about anything(no comments please). Now, I am older and do not have as much padding built in to my backside. I bought my brick with a Corbin seat on it. I think it is just a fraction to wide.  It is a low seat, but I do not know the model. Maybe someone can help me figure it out.

I also have the low factory seat, but no cowling for the tank.
I am looking for one of those at a reasonable price.

Got the gunfighter attached, doing some maiden riding today.... report to follow ....

argent brick - sounds like a gunfighter - but there are other corbin models that could be considered low.  Was it a 1-up only seat?

Sh00ter,
I think you are right,
Looking at the pictures on this post, mine seems to be the gunfighter. It is low enough for me, but is a little too wide for my liking. Also, it is much harder that I figured it would be. Like sitting on a concrete pad. I would still like to put my bike back to stock because the factory seat is a wee bit narrower.

Is there any way to have my gunfighter reworked?

gunfighter on the block after 1 ride.   too far back, can't reach the ground, plus (as many have advised) just this side of concrete.   Dual tour next on the test list.

I'm not sure what my saddle is, but I like it: The tag sewn on the seat says Sargent, the fiberglass pan says Corbin. I got it off Ebay for about $100. According to stickers on the pan it was made in the '90s (forget the exact year and too lazy to go look) and judging from the hardware it was never installed until I bought it two years ago. It's firm but the support is great -- I especially like having the big step to push back on. I rode 10,000 miles on it last year with no complaints.

the dual tour i bought used is for an LT, it fits great - and is very comfortable, but is a bit ugly (got some teal trim).   think i'll just keep this ugly mofo and send my stock one in to get russell-ized  :D

Is the Corbin Canyon Dual Sport Low about the only low seat option/upgrade for a K75? http://www.corbin.com/bmw/8995canyon.shtml

I definitely like the low seat (30" inseam) but I'd like to see what the other options are out there.

BillyMac,

BMW made a single seat option that they put on the police bikes. You could go that route.

My Corbin Dual Sport is on the fritz and I'm getting another because I love the look of it on the RS.

Was peeping the RDLs though some fine craftsmanship!

Figured I'd reply back in here as I suppose it's a seat "option". I have the stock low seat, and don't really mind it too much, but purchased this to add a little more cushion, but more importantly, so I don't get my butt cooked by the hot black leather of the seat after it's been sitting in the sun.

Coleman Comfort Ride ATV Seat Protector

I've only been using it while commuting, but I know it definitely keeps me from getting a super hot seat after it's been sitting in the parking lot at work all day. Only cost me $18.99, adds a little padding, and it doesn't slide around at all.

Why not throw a 1/2 cover on it and protect the paint, vinyl, and seat from sun and rain? About $35.

Other than the heated seat wiring, never had much luck with seat add-ons.

Sheepskin,various gel pads,bead rider,etc. All were a disappointment.

Ever hear of Rogo ?  High tech air pressure system used for wheelchair patients.  Rick has one, tested for close to 300 miles,  :dunno2: seemed to work semi OK but spendy.

Long haul discomfort for me is arthritic in nature.

I picked one up this summer, it added more comfortable hours to my riding day but not cheap at $190 for the neoprene version (polyurethane ones are 1/2 the price).  Very happy with the purchase although you do end up a bit higher on the bike.  Not much though as you are only supposed to put in enough air to keep your butt off the seat and not elevated like an air mattress.

I'm using it over one of Rich's custom seats with an embedded jel pack, this could have been a good setup on its own but the bike came with a low seat height incompatible with my 6'6" frame.  Couldn't find a regular seat kit to swap with so getting Rich to build it up seemed a good compromise.  Now I’m looking to purchase all the kit needed to have the regular seat height without swapping with another owner just in case my current setup works better.

Hello,
I am looking for a black seat, preferably regular one (I have a grey low seat on my K75C '93) and found two. Could you please have a look and let me know if they are low versions?

There's an OEM solo seat if you can find one:

And Corbin offers the Gunfighter solo seat:

Those are both OEM low seats and your grey seat should have a profile like them if it is an OEM low seat. A standard (regular) bench seat is pictured below. Note the how the bottom edge of the seat runs roughly parallel—compared with your examples—to the top of the forward seat until it angles upward along the seat cowl toward the rear.

I think I am on about my 5th seat, most rode until they fell apart. The stock '85 was a bench style, not great, we upgraded to the newer BMW saddle style for the camping trip across the country. When that fell apart went back to the stock, then a corbin canyon or something. Bought an used Russel day long that we liked, problem was it was for a 1990 so mounting did not work, it was held on with some string for several years. Bought a beat up bmw seat for the seat pan and sent it to Russel along with measurements and photos. That was a couple of years ago, we have been very happy with it. Seemed a little strange paying almost as much for a seat as what the bike was worth. We should have bought one years ago.  Also recently added aftermarket heated grips, the little pleasures in life.

Corbin on my '85 RT. Not sure which Model/version this seat is.
Rode 700+ miles in two days. Did some work, then rode back the 700 miles. Compliment to the seat that I never noticed it. Completely neutral support. Not too hard, not too soft. Yeah, all Goldilocks. ;-)

No you are not. I've met at least 4 others in the past 20 years,  including myself.
I have cut out pockets on all my bikes for silicone sheet inserts that make a huge, positive difference. Easy to do, and budget friendly.  Silicone seems durable, even at zero G's 😉

My first K75S came with a Sargent and the second with a stock.  I like the Sargent and found the stock tolerable but wanting to find something else.  The stock was replaced with a Corbin Gunfighter (I think) purchased from a Motobrick member.  Although it looks uncomfortable I find it good for a long ride.

Both of these seats fit my 5'11" frame with a long reach just fine.
