You remove and thoroughly clean the fuel tank, replace the fuel hoses in the tank and replace the fuel filter, and replace the fuel pump's vibration damper if it doesn't grip the pump. Clean or replace the pump's screen also. Using DeoxIT D5, you clean every electrical connector—including the LE-Jetronic and the ignition control unit plugs, clean all terminals connected to the plate—and the plate itself—that is the main ground connection under the frame backbone. Clean the battery ground connection attached to the transmission, the battery terminals and connections, the alternator terminals and connectors, and the starter connections. Check for electrical continuity from the fuel injection relay to the fuel pump.

When you're finished with that, you can try to start it again.   :laughing4-giggles:  Let us know when that happens.

Some things I’ve never seen…also the seat has the handles built in to seat!

Fellas…I am going to try to keep this bike as unmolested and original as possible. I am already seeing some “different “ things. Please inform me of any KNOWN parts that are exclusive to this bike. It will save me some $, time and aggravation 😳 Thanks guys!

Ok Fellas going through the brakes..Totally dis assembled front brake system, ran cleaner and air through old lines and "exercised"  the calipers. Took apart the front master.... it bench checked ok...installed everything.... bled nicely...no leaks....Not getting any real pressure. There doesn't seem to be any REAL pressure building. TIA

Describe your bench checking process. Describe "no REAL pressure." What's the unreal pressure feel like?

Bench check was placing unit a bench vice. First with no oil ..,There was pressure and then some suction when squeezing the piston. Did the same with oil looked like it was squirting nicely. After bleeding the brakes and getting all of the air out,  when applying 10 or more “pumps“the bleed valve dribbles… normal pressure would squirt! Sort of the difference between a 16-year-old and well…..
I will be changing the lines when MOTOBINS UK “figures out” the tariffs..  their quote, not mine

Let's use artery and vein instead. We're not want to stimulate onanism here.
You've witnessed the bleed valve on this ancient caliper squirting?

Latch… not the one on the bike. I ordered a new slave cylinder. If there is no leak why isn’t she building any pressure?

You're all over the map here. By slave cylinder, do you mean the brake (master cylinder)? Slavery is not part of Classic Brick history. The master cylinder will not develop pressure if fluid is flowing from one side of the piston to the other without going into the brake line. I'm getting the feeling the problem occurred during reassembly after cleaning. Revisit the piston and verify the placement of parts.

To be clear I did not remove the cylinder from its  housing. I will now. It didn’t leak, therefore I assumed it would provide decent  pressure. Both holes in the reservoir appear to be clear.

Totally dis assembled front brake system,
So do I have this correct? You didn't totally disassemble the brake system, and you didn't bleed the brakes through the caliper. You've not seen the caliper on the bike squirt fluid from its bleed valve. You've ordered a replacement front master cylinder.
Which part are you calling a slave cylinder?

The colour code is Baja red metallic by the looks of it. Bmw paint code 174.
Any good car paint shop could mix it for you.
Also where are all these magical barns? This isnt the first "barnfind" i see here.

Ok more discoveries. There is a grease fitting on the steering column.  Also, this is an early bike March 1984.

There was a grease fitting attached to the steering column on this bike. I have found no references in any publications or websites to suggest greasing this area. The Clymers Manual shows this and an upper location as a bolt. There areplastic fillers in the other holes. Should I grease this? TIA
