Water / Oil pump service kit or replace
« on: May 22, 2017, 02:00:36 PM »
There is oil leaking  around the front of engine, looking like pump. Although there's also oil around the right hand edge of sump where engine protector bar attaches.

I'm hoping it's all coming from the pump and being spread around when bikes on road.

Wondering about the procedure to remove the pump and either replace all the seals and gasket or swap for another one.

Once you've posted photos of the leaks. If you can't determine where the leaks are, clean the area thoroughly with your favourite degreaser cleaner and let it dry. Then spray the suspect area with spray on talc in your favourite fragrance, go for a ride. The talc will help show up the source of the leak.

There's a fair bit of oil at the back of the oil pump front cover.

It can't be leaking too badly. There isn't an oil spot on the pavement beneath it.  :2thumbup:   Thanks for the pics.

Out of sight, out of mind. :giggles Clean it all off then do what Martin suggested and take photos of the fresh tracks.
