I've put in an order for the Brotbox - it's coming from Switzerland but I'm excited to see how it works - I'll keep you posted. Really like the way your bike turned out - I also want to get the exhaust on the other side but that's way beyond my skills. Hoping to have a friend come and have a look over the holidays to see if he can help with that. What/where did you find your exhaust? I was worried about the heat issues but you mentioned it wasn't bad so I'd like to try it. Please let me know when you get a chance, Thx:)

On the exhaust I pulled the center stand, trimmed all the metal off the case and bought the pipe. Had a local exhaust shop modify the collector and weld up the bend. My part was easy!

So I've had the bike out for a couple long rides now. I've noticed a trend... Some people really dig the bike like I do and then there's the people that comment "Hmmm, that's different". I'm almost offended but then I remember that different is one of the main reasons I did a K bike build.

Betcha that's cause people don't recognize it........BMW's have jugs ,right? Just ask folks who comment "Do you ride? Whatcha got?" and you'll find either they don't ride or they don't ride a BMW! As the Ural folks say, you have to remember the UDF.......Ural Delay Factor from all the curious people. You are just experiencing KDF! Beautiful bike you got there!

I really like the way it turned out - as mentioned before great attention to detail. I've looked at your build many times and I think you've done a great job. I don't know the California market, but I'd say if someone buys this for $4500 they are getting an amazing deal. I think given the work you've put in you should ask a bit more:)

Markus what is this brotbox? Is this additional for aftermarket speedo? thanks.

It's designed to be used with an aftermarket speedo on the K bikes. It allows functions like starting the bike without having the clutch pulled, gear indication, low fuel level. I can't comment on how it works as I haven't gotten my bike to the point where it's connected yet, but the actual wiring of it is pretty straight forward. I'm hoping to have the bike done in the next 2 months and then I can let you know how it works.
