replacement for Lock Ring D6,0 #07129934318

Howdy, folks. I've lost one of the lock rings for my K75S seat assembly. Clymer calls it a "special clip." Lots of online stores carry these, but the shipping is absurd for an item that weighs about as much as a couple of houseflies and could just be dropped in an envelope.

I was wondering if anyone has ever successfully replaced these with some common clip from a hardware store. I can take one of the others from the seat assembly in and start comparing, but if someone can point me to a substitute, that would be great.

Sure, I could pick one up from a dealer, even a car dealer since they use these in a bunch of models, but for the time and fuel to get over to a dealer and back, I might as well pay the brutal shipping charges. The hardware store is nearby.

thanks, bws

Just a 6mm external "Jesus" clip. Hardware store stuff will be fine. The stock one has a lip that makes it a bit easier to get it on or off without it moving into another dimension. Just buy a few from the hardware store and be done with it.

Mcmaster would be another option. I'm not sure if the 6mm refers to the shaft or groove diameter though.

You can also get the exact one from a BMW car dealer.
