12 volt electricity
I love my bike,
I love my bike,
I love my bike...
I hate my inabilities!
Some of you might recognize my newbie-isms and might laugh, but I just want to get my bike as close to headache free as possible before the winter when my brain will turn to inventive ways to stay warm while riding. Doing maintenance outdoors in January isn't fun!

Last week trying to uncover issue with wiring for the gear indicator that prevented Neutral light and GI to light I was tracing wires and tried to find a means to access the rear of the gearbox by removing the right side kick plate (newbie note~this is the item right behind the rear brake panel~right?) figured out that this was not helpful. Found solution to GI/neutral issue, but now ABS warning light will not clear after start up. It will go from solid to blinking no matter which brake I engage first and stay blinking indefinitely. I found by accident that the center button on the handlebar area will reset the ABS to solid on...till next restart. I still have brakes that seem very responsive. I tried retracing my steps, found no loose connection at the brake foot pedal, traced it upwards and found no corrosion or issue at 2 pin connection. I am fearful that I might have to go deep into the electrical box; I have been there a couple of times, but only by bracing up the tank with a block of wood while dealing with the starter relay. My skill set makes me nervous about removing the tank without someone looking over my shoulder.
So questions:
Am I risking my life by riding with the ABS blinking?
What else should I troubleshoot in regards to the blinking?
Does anyone want to make some money letting me use their garage and looking over my shoulder? (Mid Tennessee area)
What are the three toggle switches for on the center of the handlebar area?
Totally off the original subject: Is there a repair kit for side bags hinges-seems like two pieces that just slip over the hard plastic rails on the bottom of the bags.
PS,
I really do love my bike and would not trade her for the world
