Mounting a top case
« on: September 21, 2013, 04:17:01 PM »
I'm starting to sort out all my planned mods, I drilled and mounted my "sandwich rack" and looked at the hardware that came with my top case (looks like a GIVI knock off??) except when you get to the mounting plate. Could you look at what I'm working with and offer an aesthetically pleasing solution to raise the bracket up in a level stance

The only thing that comes to my mind is longer bolts/spacers for the rear for leveling, but then you are at potential of reducing the "stability" of the mount when rolling down the road.

I mounted a top box very similar to that by taking off the metal frame on the tail section and bending two pieces of flat ali for the rear brackets to bring the top box up level

I used a Givi E181 top case rack.

That's what I use as well.  Seems to be a good solution.
