So, my bike and i had a disagreement. It wanted to lay down and I wanted to stay up. I hit an unseen mud/moss patch 20 feet down my driveway as I shifted into 2nd, was high sided and it won. More damage to me than the bike. Broken bone in the shoulder, 6 weeks in a sling, no riding during some of the nicest weather. I am now a big fan of helmets ( I was wearing one, otherwise I'd still be lying there), crash bars (saved the bike from some nasty rash), and armor (if I had it, it probably would have hurt but not broke). As an aside, then I'll stop ranting, not only did this cost me 6 weeks of no riding but about $1000 in Dr.'s bills!
However, I couldn't restart the bike. No usual fuel pump whine. i thought maybe I jarred the relay loose or something. Turns out the fuel pump is bound up and only makes a dull "thunk" instead of that lovely whine. What the f---. Mounted in a rubber damper inside a tank full of fuel I would have thought it would fare better.
Thoughts?
