Negative battery wire mount
« on: April 08, 2013, 04:26:18 PM »
After tearing my K1100 apart to repair the ignition switch I forget where the negative goes on the motor/chassis. It looks like it attaches to the starter, but I don't want to blow something over a simple mistake.

Does anyone know where the ground/negative wire is mounted to the motor or chassis? :dunno2:

Either one of the starter mounting bolts should work just fine.

you can pretty much mount it anywhere.  But the actual spot is to the left side of gearbox housing, right next to the starter.  I think it's held my a 3mm hex bolt.

I ended up putting on the stock location right above the shit shaft. Thank you for the replies.  :2thumbup:
