AH, thats the beauty of the R75/7. It has a fuel pump called "Gravity".
Very low maintenance there!
It seems that practically every manufacturer of cars and motorcycles are bowing down and worshipping the god of high technology.
But, it comes with a high price. It's said to be more reliable, eco-friendly, etc. But when it breaks you need a computerized shop to fix it. It's OK if you ride a Harley and only go from bar to bar or to the beach once a week. But when your in the Rockies in Montana, 2500mi from home, I'll go with low tech, rider friendly, flat twins.
I've had them all From OLD R60, R75/5's , R90s, R80RT, R100RT and I do believe the R75/7 is the apex of the old flat twin BMW's. Like a good friend, it would never leave you stranded. Enough power for one rider and luggage, and just enough of everything to make a good ride.
BUT, I do like my K100RT.
