DIY Fuel Injector Cover (K75, K75C, K75S, K100)
« on: January 03, 2013, 01:59:49 PM »
CC Products of San Jose, CA used to make a molded plastic cover that mounted to the fuel rail and covered up the exposed fuel injectors to make the bike a bit more sleek looking.  Since they are long out of production and hard to come by I fabricated my own using some aluminum sheet metal that I cut, bent and then had powder coated.

Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

Is there any problem with heat build up? It appears to be just one-sided, not closed on the ends - so I guess the air would still flow over the engine properly?

I always thought the covers made by CC Products were metal. If they are plastic, I think I have one on my brick. They are a nice touch for a sharp looking machine.  Dust and dirt still get behind them though.

Your DIY cover seems to be taller, which is a good thing. Nice job.

I assumed the plastic moulded injector cover that came with my bike was OEM... I'll get around to putting it back on soon :laugh

I used the engine as my template.  The one thing to be careful about is bending the aluminum and having it crack in the process.  I did it in a vice between a couple of 2x4s and pounded the bends with a hammer while bending it so it wouldn't crack.

Great writeup Duck.

For those with less of a DIY penchant, Motorworks in the UK has picked up distribution of a new re-manufactured injector cover for the K75 and K1008V bikes.

Part numbers ACA66614, and ACA66615

Good find.  It's good to see that MWorks still does stuff like this.  Not sure why CC Products discontinued.  Once you've got the mold, running a batch or two now and then can only lead to more income.
