Front LED signals no worky
« on: May 19, 2012, 06:20:07 PM »
Hey any of you cats know why the LEDs I put in my front turn signals don't work?  Same ones work fine in the back.  I've tried other too.  Can't make LEDs work on the front turn, what gives?   :nono

Do they have built in resistors to fool the light monitor? Maybe a link to the bulb would help so we knew what you were trying to install.

Oh I didnt think of that.  The bulb monitor only cares about the front ones?  I thought it only did tail and head bulbs   Ill bypass the bmu and give that a shot.

I got a signal minder in this pppy.  Just trying to do signals.  Works perfect in the back. But the fronts just won't blink.  I'll try the bmu and see if that's it.

Sometimes the polarity is reversed on the RS front turn signals.

Hard fix: Swap and resolder the wires.

Easy fix:  Shave off the square corners on the connector with an Exacto knife or other sharp instrument and flip the connector over.

Before doing either use a voltmeter to confirm polarity.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

shizzz i never thought of that - makes perfect sense given the diode-ed-ness of the LEDs .... will report back manana .. it's miller time now.
