Removing instrument cluster from K75C
« on: June 13, 2026, 02:04:11 PM »
I finally found K75 in bad enough shape not to feel guilty about using for a scrambler built. I can’t remove the plug from the cluster, as if something is holding it in place (1994 k75c). It just popped out on 85 k100rt I did earlier. Thank you!

That's a photo of the connector cover. The connectors are beneath it. Was the screw attaching the cover easily removed?

There never was a screw, the cover slides off.

There is a screw stub in that hole or there was a screw in that hole. The covers on the K75 are screwed on.
Go to this link. Your Brick has the earlier cover setup discussed in 3b of the K75 Standard instructions above the 75C instructions. It can be troublesome to remove. Covers remove by being pulling upward after the screws are removed. Have you removed this cover previously?

No, I haven’t removed the cover previously, just unbolted lunch box from the bracket and that’s how it looked. Thank you for the link!

If there's no screw in there, it's just stuck. Lube it with spray silicone or electronic cleaner along its edges, tap it gently around its perimeter, and patiently wriggle it off with pliers if necessary.

Use this link to view an instrument cluster wiring guide. The photo below is a 75C connector of similar vintage. Note the screw protruding.
