FOUND: WTB; tray that computer mounts to on K75
« on: October 23, 2025, 11:18:06 AM »
I have a 1994 K75.  When I received the bike, the Bosch computer was just hanging over the battery.  Looking at parts diagrams, it seems that there is supposed to be a tray to mount the computer.  If anyone has this I’d like to buy it.

You're looking for this. Don't wait too long. If your Brick doesn't have the rubber mounting parts or the box doesn't come with them, you should have them, too. They're might available at a dealer or independent vendor somewhere but you could zip-tie things together, I guess. I've bought from the vendor in the link. He's been reliable.

The diagram below is from the MaxBMW fiche. The front panel with the X on it is unnecessary. Part #8 doesn't apply. The suspension parts are indicated.

Thanks,  i was looking at these parts before but couldn’t understand it,

So 1 is the tool box.  Is the below section for the computer part of the tool box and not separate?

So I need the box (1) and the suspension parts (4).

And does it need the bump stops?

Which one? There's two versions of the brain box. One that has a toolkit box on top for the regular seat models and a low seat version that does not have that.

Good question.  Not sure if I have the low or high seat.  The seat mounting hardware is missing, and the seat was purchased from somewhere.  My bike does have that rubber part that hugs the tank but now sure if all this stuff is right or all mismatched.

As you can see there is a mismatch here.  The Corbin seat that came with the bike was in awful condition.  I bout this one which is in better condition, but doesn’t seem to be right for this bike.

Any K75 can accommodate either seat; to be successful it needs the correct hardware, tool case/control unit holder and body panels. The reason for exchanging seats is usually a matter of comfort. Low seats are for riders with short inseams, standard seats are for riders with longer legs. If you like how your legs and posture feel with that seat then you'll likely want hinges, a control unit case, and the battery panels on each side for a complete restoration, although many riders get along fine without those panels. If you stay with the standard seat, remove tank hugging rubber part.

Thank you for your help.  I like the taller seat so I can ditch the rubber part.  If I stay with the taller seat, then I need the tool box/computer mounts?  Instead of just the computer mount?

The one at the link I posted will make your life easier, the undercarriage of your Brick less chaotic, and give you more space to store stuff. You now need to consult the parts fiche for all the hinge hardware, you might need.

That rubber thing on the rear of the tank is part of the low seat setup.

The seat is a mismatch because it's a regular, not low, seat.

Details about them and the different mounting hardware for each:

Regular: https://www.kbikeparts.com/classickbikes.com/ckb.tech/0.ckb.tech.files/regseat/regseat.htm

Low: https://www.kbikeparts.com/classickbikes.com/ckb.tech/0.ckb.tech.files/lowseat/lowseat.htm

Thanks to all for your help.  I now have a better understanding.  I ordered the tray from Ebay and the hardware from Max BMW.
