Metal Brackets for Custom Builds
« on: January 29, 2025, 12:34:38 PM »
I am going to attach several brackets that I've designed for my k1100 here in case anyone wants to use them for their own builds.  I am also willing to help people with art for additional brackets to add to this resource.  Just PM with a bracket you need and I'll try to help you with a file for it.

All of these brackets can be sent to any shop that cuts sheet metal with CNC equipment. Laser cutting is best for tight tolerance, but water jet cutting will probably also work for most of these.  It might be possible to extrude these vector objects with 3d software for 3d printing.

If you are in the US, you can upload these files to sendcutsend.com and they can cut you parts.  Their prices aren't too bad, and if you do a few different brackets at once, you'll avoid their minimum order fees.  They also have a wide range of available materials in all sorts of thicknesses. They can do bends, bosses, threading, finishes, etc.  Check them out.

Please bear with me as I post these little by little. I will try to add a photo of my installed bracket to each, though I may need to come back and add some photos.

Look for the ZIP files on each comment

I highly recommend printing these out at real size and test fitting on your bike to ensure they do what you need them to do.  You can open eps files with adobe acrobat, hit print, check the box for "print actual size", and print it out.

i use sendcutsend.com for my brackets.  Its fast and reasonably cheap.  Best to  order multiple brackets at once to save on minimums fees.

k1100 CENTER STAND BUMPER BRACKET

This is a bracket that will allow you to add a new bumper for a k1100 center stand.  The oem exhaust has a bumper built in, but if you remove it for a custom exhaust, you lose the bumper.  This replaces that.  iI will only work with exhausts that stay onteh left side of the bike and which dont interfere with the arm for the bumper.

I used a 1" rubber bumper from amazon to attach with a bolt through the arm on this bracket.

This bracket goes BETWEEN the gearbox and OEM stand bracket.  I cut mine from 1/4" stainless steel.

O2 TEMP SENSOR BRACKET FOR 16V BIKES

This bracket will allow you to mount your O2 temp sensor between 2 throttle bodies.  It uses 2 of the screws on the back of the throttle body rail for mounting. The o2 sensor will go through the large hole, and this will place it directly between 2 intake openings.  if you have pod filters, it will site between 2 of them.  I used 1/8" aluminum for this bracket on my bike

COOLANT OVERFLOW BRACKET

This bracket will work with all k bikes.  It is to allow an easy attaching point for a computer water cooling tank to be used as an overflow.  I cut this from 1/8" alluminum.

The tank I used was a 50mm x 150mm bykski tank.  I used a 50mm round clamp I found on ebay in concert with this bracket for mounting.

Here is the ebay link to the 50mm round bracket I used, for however long that listing exists

https://www.ebay.com/itm/222530274748

I have 2 options here.  I used version 1.  Version 2 wil move your round clamp more towards the center of the tube.

Rad cover Bracket

This one has a little more specific end use.  These brackets attach to the aftermarket radiator commonly available, to provide a mounting point for the forward screw hole on the pictured radiator side covers.  I have not tested these on an OEM radiator, they may work.

Please note the left and right sides are different.

Spal Fan Bracket

This one is a bracket for mounting the 6.5" spal puller fan to the standard AFTERMARKET radiator.  I have not tested this on teh oem radiator.

I am happy to make adjustments to this art to work with the OEM radiator if anyone wants to work with me...I no longer have my oem radiator or I'd just do it for you guys.

The screw holes on this one should be countersunk for mounting the fan itself, and use countersink screws.  I cut this in 1/8" aluminum for my bike.

Sorry for no pictures, I will try to get one uploaded

Spal Fan Bracket OEM Radiator

I have modified my aftermarket bracket based on a file provided by a user on facebook who made a file for the OEM radiator.  I have not tested this one.  I recommend printing this out in adobe acrobat at real size and checking if it aligns with your radiator.  The fan holes will definitely align.

Once someone confirms this works on the OEM radiator, I will update that here.

Again, you will need to countersink the fan mounting holes so this bracket will sit flush against the radiator.
