Well, this is not a new problem, but has been low priority. When I bought my K75C, the trip meter was non-functional, but the PO had a new one, complete with the adjuster knob ("button") in the kit. So, several years ago I endeavored to change it while replacing some non-functional bulbs. I fitted the new odometer and bulbs, buttoned everything up, and all was good. Until... the adjuster knob apparently fell out on the road somewhere.
I had the old knob, and have since been keeping it in the under-seat tray, and just adjust the trip meter when needed (usually to track fuel mileage). But, this leaves an open hole on the side of the instrument cluster. Plus, I'd like to have the knob affixed where it belongs.
My question: how does the knob stay "put" on the cluster? I looked at the parts diagram on Duck's site, and it looks like it may just be retained by an o-ring? My adjuster knob (the original one) is only the plastic knob with a notch at the end (I see the diagrams and some pics show a spring, e-clip, etc. think
