WTB K75 K1100
« on: April 06, 2021, 08:42:38 AM »
I'm brickless . Looking for an unmolested brick. WILLING TO PAY A PREMIUM for one that has needed upgrades[so I dont have to] like brake lines, seat, shocks, etc. Wouldn't mind a nice K75, but would consider other models.

At that price, this should be a contender, too.

Fly and ride.  It's a great way to bond with a "new" bike.

My wife won;t ride, so I really don't need anything bigger than a K75. my #1 pick would be a well sorted, late model K75RT.

If it were me, I'd try for a fly and ride.  I bought a K75S in Texas that I rode home 2000 miles in 5 days.  Was a great way to buy a bike.  Nice excuse for a trip.

The RT in St. Albans is priced to high for the crappy photos the seller posted.

Regarding the market in used bikes and cars.  Was talking about it at coffee this morning with some friends who follow it pretty close.  Whether or not it's related to the stimulus checks going out, there are fewer used bikes of any size or make around here this spring than anyone can remember.  A local dealer who usually has an inventory of 250+ used bikes is down to only 30-40 unsold bikes in his warehouse and is begging people to bring their bikes in.

Used cars are getting 15-20% more than last Fall right now as well.

odd, here on the redneck riviera there is a glut of uses cars, and plenty motos for sale, mostly hardlys, they like 'em loud with ape hangers here. Beemers are few and far between, mostly tourers passing through. We have some pretty scenery along the water.

Thanks for the replies. I went to the dark side and bought a 2000 R1100RT. Got it cheap enough that I can still add K to the stable, A K75c would be nice since I will have a tourer.

Yea, nice bike, I sold it. Never could get the wind buffeting sorted. Tried bigger screen, smaller screen , laminar lip,. You,re limited by the angle of the screen.

The deal is back on, and I am probably going to drive it home from CT, , depending on how sorted out it is. Since it isn’t a brick It may not be appropriate to discuss it here.

Bring it up to our place to test it on gravel roads. You'll get a free gallon of maple syrup, a gift box of fresh black bear scat and an overnight stay in a cabin surrounded by howling coyotes.

You,re limited by the angle of the screen.
A couple of 3/8" rubber spacers behind the screen on the upper (longer) screws will change that angle ...

I thought that may have been your bike at one time.  Did you get it from Jim Cox?  I think he had one of those Dakar yellow Special Editions.

I solved the buffeting issue by cutting down an old windshield.  It put my helmet up in clear air with the turbulence down on my chest.

Damn!  I wish I didn't sell that bike.  It just didn't have enough weather protection for late fall and early spring riding.

I solved the buffeting issue by removing the windshield. Now I get wind-blasted all over; it's a more balanced feeling. :laughing4-giggles:
