Can I replace the cables from the sender to the fuel pump?
« on: February 11, 2021, 08:04:49 AM »
Hi, I am cleaning the tank of my K75C 1986, so I take off the fuel level sender.
Lots of rust, but it works.
The cables to the pump, are cracked.
Can I replace them?, any cable of the same diameter can work?
Is the insulation plastic composition important as it will be submerged in fuel?....

Any comments will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Most wire has PVC insulation.  It's reasonably fuel proof.

If you want to be really sure, see if you can find #18AWG tinned wire with Teflon insulation.
