I've had my moto's fuel cap disassembled right down to to the lock spring mechanism and didn't come across that part. You might have a bitsa.
don't know that term, but seems useful. Definition?
Looking at your photos, I would place the triangularly configured, vented part facing the fuel tank's interior, the gasket beneath it and the cover over it.
thank you
This is one of those times when following procedure rather than acting extemporaneously when encountering difficulty, then paying attention might have made things slightly easier but it's not the end of the world. The plastic parts look slightly worn. Is the tank's interior clean?
I appreciate your continued assistance; however, don't appreciate the judgement and lecturing. Had I found a procedure, I would have used it; spent a good 1/2 hour attempting to follow the method shown in the video to no avail. Finally understood the conical gizmo popped off, not unscrewed.
Tank's interior is brilliantly clean. I cleaned the small internal bits in photo once I saw the dirt in the pix; now spit-polished clean.
Signing off for the evening, and thanks again.
