I need to repair my RT Fairing

When I took the fairing apart for a complete end to end maintenance:


I noticed this:

I purchased a brand new metal harness from eBay for $150 and I purchased some Plast-Aid to make the repair.

Is there a guide here on how to repair this to make it like new again? Tips? Ideas? Thoughts?

Should I just purchase a new blue RT fairing completely, move over the turn signals and headlight and windscreen motor and use that instead for the best scenario?

Sometimes three out of four ain't bad.

It's fixed at other points too,  so if it's been repaired outside and seems stable while riding, one option is to just leave it as is.

I have repaired that same damage(several times).  Here's how I did it:

First, clean the bare stuff well with rubbing alcohol.  Don't worry about the rough surface.  the rougher the better.

Second, mix up some epoxy resin. 

Third, paint the epoxy on the bare part of the broken bits with a small chip brush.  Work it into the surface well.

Fourth, add a bit more on the surface of the fairing and set the broken part in place.  You want the fairing sitting with the headlight pointing down so the broken bit doesn't slide around while the epoxy cures.

Last, let it cure for a couple days so the epoxy has a chance to get to full strength.

I'm the 3rd owner, it has 38K miles with an unknown service history. Going through all of the maintenance...quite literally replacing everything except lubing the clutch splines (how important is that, btw?)

I only have ridden it 600 miles from VA to VT and now it's going to be in its current state for a few more weeks. I have other bikes luckily, I don't want to chop it up. It's too beautiful to ruin.

I'm within a half-hour of the birthplace of Heady Topper. :giggles  I'm not a BMW club member. If you'll be in the area and want to meet, contact me in advance through the site. I won't be riding until salt is off the pavement and the gravel roads here tightes up.

Pay attention to the Mighty Gryphon's procedures and I believe you'll have a successful outcome. He has created several threads describing various procedures including the creation of a spray booth, and has some suggestions of where to look for paint matching.
