« on: October 28, 2017, 10:16:58 AM »
Hey Yall I have a 1986 k75t with 35,000 miles as a Project Bike needing work, I installed a 2002 k1200Lt water pump on my Bike and No more Leaks,  My Question is There's no Small hole up top of the pump for the small Relief hole on the engine block,  is this Going to be A Problem down the Road????  Thanks for any info.

Shouldn't be a problem.  The pump design around that area changed in the later years; see the pic below:

Just make sure to keep that semi-circuilar hole on the engine block cleared by passing a wire through it to push out any accumulated gundge when the pump is off the block.  And make especially sure not to block that semi-circular hole with sealant when refitting the pump.

Yes that's what I was talking about,  Thanks rbm I did make sure it was clear and not blocked... on the new pump there's nothing but flange surface so I put the Sealant as normal..

Good morning Mr. Gumbo! I rebuilt an engine & water/oil pump last year very similar to what you have going on. I remember trying to figure out why nothing I had matched up with the book and other web-based info and stuff. More importantly, my concern was that the weep hole in my engine block didn't match up with the existing pump. I followed the sealant route pictured above, and I've yet to experience any issues; about 6k miles later. Best of luck with your brick!

I've put like 20k miles on a K1200LT pump on my K75 and it's been fine. I got tired of trying to reseal the old one so I just bought a used one off ebay

Exactly what I did,  only My original oil gear drive is 19 tooth count like the k1200Lt pump so everything lined up perfectly and No More Leaks!!  Thanks F14 for the Original Post.....Gumbo.
