'87 BMW K75s tire upsizing help needed!
« on: June 09, 2017, 01:36:09 AM »
Hey!

First post on here and excited to be part of the community! My current Pirelli Sport Demon's are needing to be replaced and wondering if for my new tires I can upsize without running into problems (a couple less mpg isn't what I'd consider a problem). Current dimensions for front tire are 100/90 - 18 M/C 56 H. Rear tire is 130/90 - 17 M/C 68 V.

I like the aggressive stance of wider tires. Anyone done this or know what size I can go up to?

Thank you!

The only issue that I can think of at the moment, would be the width or your rims and weather a wider tire would be designed to fit....it may limit your selections.

I recently tried to purchase a tire for my trailer. Didn't even notice until I had it mounted and bead seated that it was printed on the side wall "mount only on 3.75" rim"......I had 4" rims.  So off the tire came and back to the store for another one made for a 4" rim.

Since I was only replacing my front tire on my K75, I went with a 110/90/18 without any problems.
