Official BMW aftermarket spark plug wires/spark plug leads

Looks like BMW has finally seen the light and recognized that +$200 for spark plug wires/leads is something not even the dumbest dumbass can stomach ---

so those are different than the other 3 wires listed there for $80-ish each?  Don't the K75 wires have some kind of "air gap" or something that serves as a resistor that was unique to the model?

If you search 'wires resistor' you'll get lots of fun hits and after reading them all there's a good chance you'll still be scratching your head saying 'Huh?'

I read them all and still am not sure myself, so I said fecket, got some wires and plugs from Beemer Boneyard and commenced to motobricking.

NGK 5 ohm resistor caps with standard leads are suitable. And I believe you can use standard leads with resistor spark plugs, one of the electrical gurus will be able to confirm this.

about self made spark plugs leads, anyone knows how to securely crimp the connectors to the wires? i mean not using the very very very expensive [/size]Beru ZAZ3 Ignition Wire Tool....[/color]
on a k100 16v, the 8v doesn't need any particular tool to be connected, as long as i know.


otherwise if you could raccomand any aftermarket plug and play leads it would be nice too...

I was going to buy  these.  But when inquiring specifically and directly with Ram (realm engineering) to the issue of if they are resistor type leads and caps, they would NOT give me a direct answer.  And would only say they have sold yadda, yadda, number with no issues. So I passed due to the fact they pretty clearly are not resister type leads or caps since they would not give me a direct answer to that simple question.  My fear being the chance of damage to the ignition components in my LT,  which I have read here at MB, can be sensitive to non resistor type caps and leads.  But now that you have used them on your LT's with no issues, maybe I will give um a go.  How long have you been running them?

BMW specifies resistor plugs for the 11LT's.....and all other 4V (Motronic equipped) models) from that time era.

I've been using the Ram leads since 2010, and yes, I have resistor plugs per BMW spec.

LT's specify resister plugs, leads, and caps! I always use resister plugs. NGK DR7EB. (#5469) The hard to find ones with the solid caps.
