Still Looking for a Reynold's Hitch

I want to do some two up touring this summer and am building a trailer. So I need a hitch for my K75. Any one have one they'd be willing to part with? The trailer will be very light (60 lbs by my estimate) and low and narrow. I want to put some light springs under it and am thinking of mountain bike rear shocks but they are probably too stiff and most don't have much travel. I don't want one of those Mississippi barges some guys are towing.

Hi, Laitch.
I'm sure they are good. Maybe even overkill. The Reynolds is one sided so if you have to pull the wheel there is nothing in the way, I can probably fab one up but if someone has one laying around unused it would save me having to fab yet one more project. I would have to live as old as Methuselah to finish 50% of the projects I have rolling around my mind.


I guess that's what eternity is for.

My K1100lt has a hitch, but I don't know if it's connected to the subframe for the sidecar or not. I'll look tonight and let you know. If it can be separated, I'll let message you.

Sorry, no dice. One of the lower mounts for the sidecar is welded to the hitch. I could cut off the bar of the hitch if you want, and you could weld it up to a different mounting plate.

I will keep that option open since I have been toying with the idea of jabbing one up anyway. I'll check this lead that 10 brook offered.
Is there a chance you could take a picture of where the various bracket mount? Or even sketch it out and post it? Doesn't have to be drawn to scale or a CAD drawing or anything. The main bar is the least of the problem. The sticky bit in fabbing it up is knowing where all the other parts connect. Definitely easier to not re-invent the wheel.

I'll get some pictures of it this evening when I get home. It appears to be a Reynolds hitch that the installer of the sidecar welded a tab to. If the tab wasn't welded to it, I'd just take it off and give it to you. Anyway, I'll post pictures later.

I'm not certain whether Bellefontaine had a narrow gauge rail road or not. I know Bellefontaine was a major railroad hub way back when, but I don't know about narrow gauge.

I must have misread it . The burg I'm thinking of is Bellefonte, not Bellefontaine. Must be in Pennsylvania.

I have a couple of questions:
1. It looks like it mounts to the rider's peg? Or does it mount to front and rear peg?
2. Where does the bracket go that is up behind the rear fender? About half way up is a bolt that looks to attach to something else.
3. Are there any brackets that go under the bike? I had heard that there were but hard to tell from the pix.

Here is picture of one that has two braces that I assume go underneath.


The chrome one seems to have only one, not two but maybe they are nested together.
