k1100LT Throttle Body Help
« on: February 08, 2017, 05:59:38 PM »
Can someone take a picture of where you connect the vacuum hoses for guage and the screw you use to adjust the throttle bodies? I have read a few good write ups on the subject but a picture is worth a thousand words.
Cheers.

I was helping my son do his homework and trying to explain to him that yes America is a continent as well as the popular name of a county officially called the United States of America, so that yes he is an American since he was born in Costa Rica just as I am a European because I was born in England, but that he should refer to himself as Tico to avoid confusion...  :dunno

Go back and tell him America is the name of two continents—a north one and a south one–and also a little something in between but that won't change his self-reference.

Yeah I don't think telling him he is a North American will help much... lol

FYI 1100's don't have vacuum controlled fuel pressure regulators, so you shouldn't have a vacuum line connected to port #4.
Not saying that a P.O. didn't connect a line for something else, like cruise control or something.

Glad you clarified the K1100 side of this, Scott_, since that's what he was asking for. :giggles

That is good to know, I thought that the 16v K100 and the K1100 were more or less identical

I was starting to worry, I had just gone into the garage to look at mine and no vacuum on #4. Almost an 'Oh Shit" moment- :mbird
Thanks for the replies!

I had a similar conversation with my son years ago. We had moved to the US from England and were living in Dallas TX. He was positive Texas was a country where they all talked funny, proving his point.  Actually, many Texans would agree with him and wish for independence.

Another difference of the 16vK100 and the K1100's is the ignition amplifier on the K100's. It is also on the '93 only 1100's. Starting with the '94 model year 1100's BMW removed it.
