Clutch throw out bearing install : which side up?
« on: November 29, 2016, 08:24:46 PM »
hello all.
1985 K100
Am replacing clutch push rod boot, re greasing the puck.
Which side of the bearing touches the puck?
I am thinking open ball end lies into the puck...but wanted to confirm before failure facepalm

Check out Chris Harris on YouTube

I think it is in Part 2 of his spline lube series but if I remember the dished side faces in towards the front of the bike - please don't take my word for it!

Thanks.
I had watched the later video via google search of the reinstall, which is not as good as this video.
Your video is much better and shows exactly the way to install

Up is relative to the observers position.
I thought the part's installation position was being discussed.

More coffee over here, please!
