Thanks for the pics! The registration plate now acts as a stylish mudguard/tail light protector.  :2thumbup:

Wow... That looks really really sharp. Huge kudos for how that thing came out!

Please tell me there's a video of it. I'd love to hear it run.

Here's a link. Video taken before I 'reinstated' the rear frame.

Very nice. Well done!

I have the same headlight waiting to be installed when that time comes.

I like your seat/cowl. Did you have it made, make it yourself, or buy it? I'd like to get one

Seat unit came from: https://caferacerseats.co.uk/
Painted myself and added BMW emblem to rear. The seat pad is held down using large and very adhesive velcro. I had to customize the fibreglass seat unit to fit the bike and made brackets to hold the whole thing down. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info on the seat. How did you get the blue lines and BMW on the crank cover?  And did you find matching blue colour bolts online?

Hi, I painted the blue lines and bolts etc by hand :). Most of the work like that I just did myself as I was on a fairly minimum budget. Rear suspension for instance is just the factory one stripped and painted by me with rattle cans. Same with wheels, tank, tail end and some parts etc.....nothing professional!(don't look too close!)

Loooks great in the pictures. What up the engine block, valve cover, etc.? Did you paint those yourself or have them powder coated? I just had my wheels powder coated and the guy didn't recommend powder coating because it holds in heat, that's why I ask.

Hi, I painted everything on the engine with this stuff: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Duplicolor-MC201-Metalcast-TM-Heat-Resistant-To-500-Degrees-Fahrenheit-/351917227056?hash=item51efe6bc30:g:1TAAAOSwmrlUxyCK&item=351917227056&vxp=mtr

I painted the wheels with Plasti-kote Metallic Blue. Hard to find here but I managed to score a couple of cans and have about half a can left. Rest of the bike is just painted with a multi-purpose black gloss(which I need to respray because I had to strip the bike a couple of times for re-inspection and scratched it a bit)

Great info, thanks! I'm hoping to get the bike rideable for this coming summer and next winter I'll tear it down and clean it up real nice. I'll probably take the frame to be powder coated and the rest to my painter.

What muffler is that? I like the size

The Muffler is from this kit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/84-07-Yamaha-1200-VMAX-V-MAX-VMX1200-MINI-8in-Carbon-Exhaust-Muffler-Slip-On-Set-/190808578054?fits=Make%3AYamaha&hash=item2c6d13d806:g:w9QAAOSwgNRV8hO7&vxp=mtr

But, I purchased my one second hand much cheaper than that.

well done Bro, that is a very sweet build and the fact you did it on a budget similar to mine, it is a piece of art. I love it...sometimes, you Kiwis get thing right.  :neener:

Thanks again. I'm looking for a similar unit. eBay has them cheap I just don't know which ones are good and which are crap.
