bulbs
« on: October 28, 2016, 11:12:21 AM »
Anyone have any advice on converting to LED turn signal and brake light bulbs on a 86 K100RS?  Are they standard 1156 or 1157 type bulbs?  I'm aware of the necessary mod to the flasher relay.  I'm also thinking of going LED for the anemic headlight.  Sounds like 3rd gen LED H4's do pretty well there.  Anyone have a brand they prefer?
Cheers,
Ray

Say you need a 6 ohm resistor in parallel to account for the bulb monitoring unit.

Thanks.  This should get a re-visit as LED bulbs are much brighter since 2011.

I put these 1157's on my vintage GoldWing, and it's 2x brighter than a standard 1157.  https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/tail-brake-turn/1157-led-bulb-dual-function-1-high-power-led-bay15d-retrofit-car/808/741/
