k75 handgrips
« on: October 16, 2016, 12:37:43 AM »
I purchased a 1992 K75S that had 'non-S type' handlebars installed that let you sit more upright.   I just purchased some foam grips on-line and when they arrived I cut off the old BMW grips.  Found out the the new grips don't fit.    The handlebar throttle tube is made from plastic. It is 25 mm (1 in) in diameter.  The left is the bare handlebar metal and 22 mm (7/8 in) in diameter.  Both sides are 120 mm in length.  Does anyone knows what grips I can purchase to fit.  I look on-line and the sizes don't seem to be right.  I wanted to upgrade to foam or gel, but right now I am out of commission with the bike and would settle for the standard BMW tapered type.  These are not heated grips.

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

ProGrip model 699 grip rubbers or similar (see this tech article).  Ask the merchant about the sizing before you buy.

I have Pro grip 714 grips on my RS and they are quite comfortable.

Cushy, squishy grip without being sticky.  Very easy to hang on to for long periods.
