I have a new-to-me 1993 K75RT. I noticed my legs were feeling warm while riding - quite welcome here in Aus where it's still Winter, but soon-to-be unwelcome as the weather heats up. I've noticed the slots shown in the photos which seem to be the source of the heat, but I haven't seen other pics of them anywhere, and they're not mentioned in the owner's manual (well, not that I can see, anyway!) They are in the side panels of the front fairing.
Can anyone tell me whether they're meant to be there, or if there's some easy way to stopper them up for Summer (temps here can reach 40C+!?) Will I cook my motor if I try, or just my legs? Have those cunning Teutonic engineers who designed BMW's thought of this, but I've missed the message somewhere?
Cheers,
Max in Melbourne, Australia
