K100 Unknown Earth strap.
« on: August 21, 2016, 02:29:16 PM »
Evening.

I have a rogue braided earth strap bolted to the top, LHS of the frame and hanging loose, which I believe is an additional earth to the petrol tank as fitted to Police 'bikes. (Which this one was) I can't find much in the way of information or a schematic which mentions it.

It's currently unattached and everything appears to be functioning OK, I wondered if it's alright to remove this strap altogether or whether I'm setting myself up for failure? (Wouldn't be the first time)

Also, does it attach to the tank just behind the rubber grommet for the side fairing fixing?

Many thanks in advance.

When the strap is connected the fuel tank act as a Shield so the fuel pump and fuel level sensor don't
disturb the police radio.........no problem to remove the strap.
