No start problem 93 K75S

Help  I'm not very good in electronic trouble shooting.

I just finished a spline lube, when reassembling the power post of the starter was damaged.  Got a new to me starter  (thanks Ronald Scibetti) now it's not working.  Think it's something in the starter circuit. 

Neutral green light on gear position reads 0.  No different weather clutch pulled in.

Lights normal when the key is on.

Fuel pump not working.

When the starter button is depressed the RPM RAISES on the tachometer. Even though the starter in not spinning.

4-pin connector to fuel tank?

fuse #6?

The starter motor and relay circuit is okay since you have the gear position indicator.

The rpm signal comes from the ignition control unit/ hall sensors, so that part is working okay also.

Check the battery ground cable, both ends.

Fuses checked with an ohm meter first thing. 

Only power to the 4 pin connection is about 7 volts between the brown and white wire. 

Is there a way to bench test a F/I relay?

The relay can be tested on a bench by connecting +12v on pin 86 and ground on pin 85, then there should be continuity between 30 and 87,87b.

You should measure between the brown and the green/white wire........the white wire is for the low Level
warning lamp.

On voltage at all.  Only between the brown and white.

It should be power at the green/white wire when (and only) the starter button is pushed or the engine
is running............the brown wire is ground.
