'87 K-Brick fuel tank filler cap/assembly

Hi there guys, new to the forum, this is my first post and im hoping someone out there will have the answer that i need -
firstly the K project is going swimmingly, i inherited my friends K brick for the princely sum of 4 Cans of K Cider. those of you not familiar with the drinking habits of brits on a budget, its about 7-8 %abv and comes in a pint can. Gluten free, too for those who give a fuck. how bloody civilised.

Alas, a major stumbling block - cannot get a complete fuel tank cap assembly. the insert is intact, but cant find the other parts individually, OR a complete unit somewhere (anywhere) at 250 USD or 300pound sterling new from BMW, thats a piss take.
is there any suggestions from any of you guys where i can source the damn thing? or if i send it to someone, they can rebuild? or an aftermarket swap out? would prefer NOT to try modify the tank itself.
 ive already tried moto-works motobins, beemerboneyard, kbike parts, yadyadayada u get the idea.
had considerably more grey hairs than when i started this project.....

I love strong cider...... 300 hunred quid and 4 cans is still cheap but once you start hemorrhaging money....there will be less piss to drink.

arrr true that, but ive already spent about 300 quid on other essentials, rebuilt the clutch, new fuel pump, filter and oil filter, new pedals, selector shaft, clutch cables, and about 30 quid on live yoghurt (yes its a rat bike..... fitting as its an ex cop bike :)
also, made new flatseat from an old longboard deck, and mounting an 84mm mortar box for luggage cap.

so another 300 is out of my reach atm. :(

Post pictures of what's up with the cap.300 quid would take how long to earn after tax?Can you consider making the missing parts?A slab of Duck tape over the hole?A big cork?Proper rat bike.Mot safety?Oh well.

cant post pictures yet but will add them as soon as i get them (2-3 days,) and its more to do with the fact that my ground rent is 1600 per month (eek...) so would take more than a couple of months saving to stretch to that, UK MOT is strict as a nun in charge of a harem,
 but as i say, the insert that conets to the tank is intact (that is, the ring with 4 screws amd exterior flap), but i need EVERYTHING else associated with the assembly, as the previous owner lost the tank key at a rally and broke into the tank on the way home to refill, cant find all the individual parts for anything less than an entire new assembly would cost. :(

any other bike AT ALL would be simple, but ive seen a few complete caps from kuryakyn, has any other K' rider tried this?

You can get 12litres through the fuel level sender hatch before it pisses out on the floor....Got me home,just.

i know i was on the back, but this has to do at least 1 CLEAN mot before my A1 test ( its the bike im gonna do it on) and its currently SORN so no way around it

A1 test=125 cc max...even pulling all the plugs except the last one will leave you with 250 odd cc's..I guess.

Just had a look at Motorworks site they are showing a second hand cap TAK 53641 72.00 Pound. With variable availability, it would probably best to ring them leave your number for the next available one. Or if your really desperate try Home Page - The BM Shop - (07) 3356 6128
