How much should I offer for 2 K75 parts bikes

I just came across two K75s that have been sitting for about 15 years.

One is an 86 and the other is an 87.  Each has about 70,000 miles on it, and I don't know exactly what models they are, but I do know that they don't have BMW windshields or fairings.  They each have BMW tragkorbs and mounts.  Each has a clean title and each has a couple of semi-major problems like a leaking gas tank or plugged injectors.  I don't think it makes sense to restore either to operational condition as I can buy running bikes of the same vintage for less than $2K.

How much should I offer for these machines if my intent is to keep some parts for my own use and then to part out what remains?  The seller wants to sell them as a pair.

The going rate for a non-runner seems to be $500-800.  I've seen some nice looking K's go for $400 when the seller realized how much it would take to get it running.

sounds fair, I was going to offer $500 for the one I was looking at, but the guy who has it is out of town and I haven't heard back.

Start At $800 for the pair.
50 cents per cc for a non runner is about as low as you could wish for a fairly complete roller K75.
Promise the seller you will be a good custodian and repurpose most of the pieces.

How are you going to manage stripping, reconditioning then using these parts in the future when—as far as a previous thread of yours goes—you were unable to remove an air cleaner from your bike? Perhaps a better strategy would be to bank the money you'd spend on these junkers and spend it on new parts for your bike when you need them.

These bikes are scrapyard material...................$100 for both and you'll haul them away for free. As for repairs, name two items off the bike that would be worth paying a $100 and would be worth the trouble to disassemble.

Undamaged wheels, if they were both 18-inchers that fit his bike. Next challenge, please. Wait! My turn. Spell the last name of the scientist who proposed the Fahrenheit temperature scale commonly used in the US for determining K-bike coolant temperature.

There you go, that's about it, other than the engine/drivetrain components. I wouldn't pay more than $100 for the opportunity to drag two aggravating pieces of junk away and take them into my cluttered little shop and then disassemble and dispose or retain. Save your money, buy what you need as you proceed. These junk bikes aren't a bargain at anything over junk/ scrap prices.

I think the 'parting out' for sale is much more trouble than it's worth. Like TrueAce said, there isn't anything on these bikes that's worth anything except the ECU and maybe ABS brain and seats if they're in excellent condition, and expensive parts you're going to want to keep for yourself as spares. Drake seems to have reopened his store, too, so he's setting the price points on most parts. The time expended to pack up and ship all those $20 - $40 items ... Ugh. Rather be riding.
