Outlawuk building my K75 cafe racer ..

Hi .. New to the forum ..

Having a 86 K75C turned into a cafe racer by some new guys on the block in Mansfield .. OutlawUk .. Find them on Facebook and have a look ..

Doing a great job so far .. I did all I could on stripping her down .. Selling off all the plastics etc .. Now over to their workshop

The bike was in ok condition when I bought her .. Hope it's going to turn out extra special .

I'll post more as I go .. But so far the guys building have been awesome ...

They are on .. With pics of the build ..

Going to run same clutch as stock .. I'm not very tech savvy .. Simple is best for me

dont forget the fork gaiters... real cafe motos have corrugated rubber boots covering their forks...

Hyperextension of the swingarm arc is the technique for giving a more graceful spiral to the shock spring.

The YSS shock that came with you're bike is a Poggo stick.My new one was.Replacement with a solid bar would be an improvement tho it wouldn't satisfy Laitch's aesthetic sensitivities.
Don't hyperextend the swing arm arc.The wheel base is just right.

I think Johnny meant "wet crotch" not clutch but I might be wrong with that....My tech savvy was gained tinkering in the shed.
But, I know the corrugated gaiters are a good idea.Much "street cred."

Frame fully cut and back from the powder Coaters .. Tank ..casings ..seat unit in the paint shop ..

The Brick arm of motorcycle evolution is so well developed and two things come to mind that indicate this:
1 it's very difficult to improve when imposing any style template or performance mod like cafe,cruiser or chopper that actually makes aesthetic or engineering sense.Each to their own..SJM included.
And.
2 They're just bloody good at what they were designed to do and keep doing it mile after mile.Just what I wanted and still want.

The odd thing I find is that very few people apreciate this as the 2nd hand market shows.This is a perfect storm for those that do though because it's way undervalued and still plentiful so very good value.This then makes them vulnerable as the dream to hybridise this evolution is initially cheap but improvements are elusive.
I do have a couple of other mad machines to remind me of all this,though.

Sorry fellas .. I'm at a loss as you can say you prefer the stock 30 year old oxidised look to this black and polished look ..

Haha you might need to look away at the finished bike when it's all done..

I certainly understand the wish to be different and motorcycling by itself is that.The standard brick is even further down that path as is and they're soooo good.
I hope you get as much use and enjoyment,from your creation, as I have out of my standard but subtly modified freedom machine.
I'm an old fart now,but. :oldguy: The less attention I get,now, the more I can get away with.....

I'm after new rubber .. I want high performance .. As wide as I can go for the bike .. Not bothered about wear ..

Very clever paint scheme..........you keep the tank level with the tail visually and diminish the dropping bottom edge of the tank from dissonance with the seat. Well done. Now diminish the footprint of the large pegs by cutting away the excess aluminum. Good job!
