auxiliary or running light bracket for k100rs
« on: May 24, 2016, 07:36:12 PM »
I spent yesterday afternoon searching (motobrick/internet) for a front running light bracket.  Couldn't find any good pictures other than on JO's bike :bmwsmile...didn't want to bother him for pictures w/closeup or description.  So,  I went to the shop and just started working.  It is a little on the heavy side and I haven't run it yet (vibration?).  I was unable to find any pointers for mounting (we are a little isolated in Kansas/haven't seen a K bike in years), so I used the two lower fairing mount bolts to attach the bracket.  Still working on the wiring.  Trying to decide how to power/switch them.  Yes, there is a lot of information on wiring... :bmwsmile

Pretty nice metal work there, JG! Now you just need a couple of John Deere lights and you'll be set for deer for life.

+1 Nice job!

That is something I've been thinking about doing for some time. Now I have another example.

Nice bike too!

Not unless John Deere has an acid orange lens option...

So I have read the thread on the visibility and JO's endorsement for the acid orange lights  (just no good pictures of his light bracket).  Personally, I do not like the draw or the price/bulb availability.  Already have an obscene headlight...120/90, and cannot upgrade the alternator this year.  My biggest threat is wildlife and I love the white led for that. Going to go w/the 6led for now.  BTW, I drive in un-populated areas :bmwsmile primarily, and when I vacation, I don't go to the city :hehehe.  Australia sounds real nice...but those penal donkeys and their plans for world domination got me leery :bmwsmile

Your safe with Oz donkeys as long as you have plenty of carrots.

Thanks JO, now the forum has two ideas, w/pictures, on a searchable post heading :bmwsmile.  My final pictures just showed the mounting bolts/holes (closeup) and the modification to the lower fairing wind screen...
