Best headlight for K75S?
« on: August 05, 2011, 01:37:33 AM »
San Francisco has completely random weather patterns and just terrible fog/drizzle some nights. I ride a lot at night and realized recently that the stock (or maybe just my) headlight is completely weak even with the supposed "brights" are on.

Considering that I'm not very mechanically inclined, what's the best/easiest headlight upgrade for the K75S? Avoiding any kind of relay/electronics installation would be the key factor unless it's stupidly easy.

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so any help/feedback is appreciated.

PS: Does that clear plastic cleaner stuff actually work or is it just a gimmick?

The K75S headlight isn't that great but there's a few things you can do.

For consistently crappy weather a bulb like this would probably help:

The relay kits from Eastern Beaver are easy to install.  Even for the electronically challenged.

The headlight lens is glass so plastic cleaner is a non-issue.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

You could also add in some Auxiliary lights. I too deal with SF bay area fog, and 75 watts of nice, diffuse yellow light is great.

I used some harley fork clamps, and a set of cheapo aux lights from Ebay. They us MR16 bulbs, available at home depot.
