I'm confused by his reference to a CO2 pot on a motronic.
Would this be a non-cat version?
Or a non-us emissions version?

My 16V RS had three exhaust systems replaced in four years.  My understanding was that the owner at the time finally gave up and installed a Remus exhaust without a Lambda sensor, so the CO pot was added as a retrofit to provide a signal to the Motronic.  Apparently there is a procedure for setting it that uses an exhaust gas analyzer.
