Forgive me if this has been discussed somewhere but I've search the forums here and haven't come up with an answer yet. My bike won't start. Does anyone know why?

I've replaced the footpegs, the handgrips, all the lamp bulbs, the fork seals, and the front axle. I've scrubbed myself and the bike with Seafoam, Techron and WD-40. I've used a Dremel, a slide hammer, and an easyout on all the parts I could reach. I bought a 70-piece o-ring set online—still no start.

The previous owner hid it in an abandoned well for eight years to keep his wife from taking it in a divorce settlement. He said it was running good about a year before he stored it.

Have you tried using the optional key? Some early models with a VIN ending in D-U-H actually require a key inserted @90 degrees and rotated 120 degrees clockwise in order to release electrons to activate combustion. Worth a try....post pictures.

Too noisy when you use the key.

Klassic K's have a safety feature that disables the bike until the rider is wearing a helmet. Put on your helmet and try again.
I don't think that's happening in this case. It wouldn't start when I was wearing my helmet.

I'm going to get a new helmet anyway. This one sucks. It hangs down way too much in the back and I can only see when I open and look through a little vent in the front, and then I can only see just a little bit and need to keep moving my head from right to left to see everything. It just seems unsafe but the rear vent is really large and the wind on the back of me head keeps me cool.

Were you wearing your helmet on your head?

Yes.
This is very distressing. I've even polished the mirrors—no start. I would think there would be somewhere on this site where there would be explanations of why a bike doesn't start.

You need to use the crank handle, some are clockwise some are counter clockwise, but if you have the Super Deluxe version they are Bidirectional.

Steady, Laitch, just stick your finger in the exhaust hole, give a tickle, and she'll turn right over. Always did for me.

When I asked Drake about what the fairing on my bike was like before I bought it he said it gave great protection when he was in a rainstorm in Montana without a helmet

Laitch - maybe you should change the air in the tires. If that doesn't work (and it probably will - cuz it always does for my cousin) then check the piston return springs. Search for my posts on these subjects and read them all before you ask any more questions - else you will be banished and not re-admitted till you submit a picture of yourself pissing and promise to spell tiors correcklee.

Update:
I read somewhere that El Niño or La Niña could be responsible for some of this. A neighbor whose wife's financial consultant's friend is a meteorologist is coming by to tell me what he told him that he then told her and that she passed along to him, and also to take a look at it.

Laitch - don't listen to any of these folks ... they are just messin' with your head in an attempt to make others laugh whilst the last of the snow melts. I'm 99% sure that your non-starting problem is due to the belly pan magnet ... lie on the ground directly underneath the bike and look upwards - you should see a big N (for northern hemisphere) or S (for somewhere else) ... possibly nothing at all (unlikely, as it would mean your bike would only ever run near the equator).

Just returned from an AARP cruise around Lake Okeechobee on 50-passenger, four-prop airboat. Talked with a lot of fine folks, couldn't hear any of them but I now believe the starting problem may in fact have something to do with the wheel bearings—not sure whether front or rear.
