I have a mate with a Brick collection 5-1/2 in total (My fault). Only two registered, the Black 93 RT is the problem, when it's cold extremely hard to start and keep running, he has to really work he throttle. Once it's warm no problems until the fuel level gets just under half, then it starts cutting out and surging. I suspected bad temp sensor, he has already replaced the AFM. I went over to help him we substituted the temp sensor for a variable resistor which we set at 2.94 the same as a good one. It started right up an ran like a dream. One problem down, left the variable resistor connected. Rather than delve into the tank he decided to substitute it with a tank off his Red RT, which he had used on his Gold 75S, when it had developed a leak. On doing this it would not start at all, only fire occasionally when starter button pressed. I had a look in the tank and discovered the float was rusted and seized, so put the Black tank back on. On trying to start it, same result as the red tank it would only fire occasionally when starter button pressed. He tried to supply power direct to the pump by connecting to the brown and white wire to a 12v battery, not a sound out of it. He is a highly qualified electrician now retired, and I am doing the grunt work due to the fact he has five herniated discs in his back, he is awaiting an operation and is pretty depressed that none of his bikes are rideable. The Gold 75S registered in pieces, has semi major fairing damage due to a drop and awaiting him to repair. He can only supervise for a short time, and I am trying to help. I have a couple of questions, what wires do you use to hot wire the pump at the connector, and will the pump work when there is no fuel in it, or is there a low level cutout. I have downloaded Bertrand Vogels troubleshooting guide. I will keep updating as and when I get access to the bike any suggestions appreciated. I tried to get him to let me pull the plugs, but by this time he had had enough.
