Saw a Ural and talked to the owner last winter(He was out in 8" of snow and 10 degrees F).  I am smitten with the agricultural look of that machine.  Reminds me of the old Massey Feguson and International equipment the old farmers around here used.

I will be cataloguing all the bits and pieces of this 'kit' bike this weekend to see if it can be resurrected.  One feature it does not have is ABS.  If I was to fit ABS to it is ABS II doable or worth it ?   :dunno   Actual wrenching on this will have to wait for warmer weather though ,,,, -22 C is Saturday's forecast high and my garage has no heat  :musicboohoo:

My view is no ABS is an advantage, and I would not consider adding it. As for Urals, I have tried to walk away four times from my addiction in the past 20 years, only to come crawling back. I have accepted my Uraldiction now, and I am happy with my present Ural, especially since they added disc brakes and fuel injection. My next project will be grafting a Ural car to a K-bike to make a Kural.

The wiring aspect doesn't faze me but the fitting of compatible ABS II calipers etcetera to an older K is a concern.  As it is a ways off I'll put that idea to rest for now.  My brief ride with ABS has me liking it though.
