What appliances, rooms have you appropriated off the Missus.
« on: January 20, 2016, 03:29:27 AM »
Being males we think a bit differently than our wives, partners, girlfriends.  And after Mlytle question on whether to do motorcycle related activities in the house . I would like to see who's guilty of appropriating rooms as well  as household  appliances,  and what you used them for. I now have the wifes toaster oven to cook my welding electrodes and an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner to clean injectors and switches. Come on fellas fess up who's guilty and did she find out.
Signed Guilty on all accounts.

I use her hair dryer as a heat gun.  I also use her sewing machine for redoing seat covers.

Gazman I used Techron & cycled the injector with the bikes harness works a treat. I also have a post on the amount of crud it got out of my horn switch, using LPS Electro contact cleaner, and yes she did find out and we now own two cleaners, but I still have the toaster oven, I nearly had to give it back tonight, as our oven didn't work. But only a timer setting problem.

As I understand it it's using the wiring harness for the fuel injectors from the bike to actuate the injectors, I imagine by applying a 12V source through the harness

I use the dishwasher on parts when she is not around. Works great. Just don't use the heat/dry cycle.

I've thought of rigging up an old dishwasher to use/reuse degreaser...maybe when I have my own garage again

Gazman I originally was unsure about the voltage needed to activate the injectors. So I just connected the injectors to the bikes harness, which has the right voltage.  I have only cleaned them twice using this method. But I also add Techtron directly to the tank every 15,000 to 20,000 Kilometers . Next time I do it I will  build a better rig, not reliant on the bike, and also work out the correct voltage. There are heaps of sites on how to clean injectors, but not with a sonic cleaner. I in no way recommend my method Tectron is highly flammable.

When my wife was gone for a couple days, my buddy and I built a wall closing off the back half of the garage, which she sort of noticed when she pulled in her car. But I explained that away. Then I borrowed her room dehumidifier from her sewing room; that wasn't noticed for about a month, went straight into my new workshop. My wife understands motorcycles are like dust and will always be around, but she can't tell one from the other, so just counts. That's what the trailer at my friends house is for.

LOL! i have same situation with old bmw cars....wife notices them out in the yard.  said i can't have them visible.  bought another enclosed car trailer.  put car in that.  she was too smart for that move. have friend with 150acres and several large storage buildings.  i am pretty sure she has no idea how many cars or trailers i may or may not have there......

I used her hand lotion to lube my monkey nuts the other day. Seriously.

The alternator clutch housing slid right on to the the drive dog with ease.

Dishwasher...cleaning bits and pieces  :nono - caught numerous times.
Hair dryer...heat shrink tubing - had to buy one for the shed as she didn't appreciate the dirt and grime.
Cotton buds...for cleaning - "Buy your own".
Vacuum cleaner...for getting rid of stones and crap on the bike and in the shed - As above.
Dining room table...used it just once.  :nono It wasn't worth the hassle.
Oven...drying painted bits. HUGE  :nono

I keep some petroleum jelly in my tool bag for that kind of thing, or when a project goes south and all else fails I suppose

Ya'll are doing it all wrong...

Example:

I got an ultrsonic cleaner for my carbs and the Lord of the checkbook pitched a bitch.

I told her it was so I could clean her jewelry- and got great make-up sex...

She was complaining about the 17 year old dishwasher and I happened to think that I had room in my shop for one so I wouldn't get caught using hers, so I bought her a very quiet Bosch - and am STILL getting extra-special sex after 3 months...

When that subsides, I'm thinking she needs a new oven...

I will come clean on other transgressions, have used her hair spray to fit grips, graduated jug to measure fork oil, electric knife to cut seat foam, oven to heat up cases, freezer to shrink bearings to put in the cases. stove to melt chain grease, I cut a notch out of her favourite skinny spatula to remove the door handle from my Hot FC Holden. Big:nono. Mutilated various pieces of cutlery in order to bend, push, pull or manipulate various automotive parts.  Been caught out most of the time and I'm still married  :dunno

Well, this maybe doesn't count since we don't live together just yet, my girl lives 300km away so when I go I tend to stay a week or so. So, If I can I take parts with me that needs attending. Once I needed to take a 450cc two stroke appart and inspect it.
She suggested I worked inside on the kitchen table :D

Ohh, I maybe have to add that she keeps her Ducati Monster S4 in her living room during the winter.

Broberg are you a complete idiot, marry the girl before somebody with brains steals her from you. Ask does she like older men, would she like to live in Queensland, where the mild winter is only 6 weeks long.

Well, now, she has some quirks. for an example :
When I bought my Ducati 900ss she bought here Ducati Monster with the 916 engine
and then when I bought my dr650 she went and bought a dr800 ... See the pattern here?
She is constantly trying to one up me! Luckily for me she is renovating here house at the moment, so she has no money over for toys :D

Found a pic of the engine on the kitchen table.

You don't let a girl that lets you put an engine on a tablecloth, slip through your fingers. You will never find another one, grab her while you can. It doesn't  matter if her bike is faster. If you marry her it becomes joint property.
