Hello there fellow flying brickians!
« on: December 24, 2015, 08:18:51 PM »
Greetings from California . My name is David and I am new to the bike community but not to the bmw world. Other than building a quad and recently doing a Buell Blast as a gift for my wife, this will be my first true bike build and im extremely excited. Just acquired an 85 k100 from a shop neighbor who bought it new in 84 and has 48k and am planning to do a cafe racer type bike but will be doing a megasquirt turbo on it. So I apologize in advance if I ask too many questions or happen to offend anyone.

Welcome. Is that how you got it - or did you already start stripping some parts?

There's a category for project bikes. If you're going to document your project, that would be a nice place to do so.

Thanks for that info man. I picked it up like that. But it has all the fairings and side bags just off the bike. Already got the turbo and started cutting crap and removing unnecessarily items. I'll definitely post over there the progress

I have a 51mm single turbo off of a 95 rx7 HT12 twin turbo setup I've had laying around for a while. Turbo should be able to handle it and honestly this is my first bike, I'm sure it would be plenty fast for me in stock form, but I just like turbocharging things so I am looking for no more than 6-8psi out of it. Hopefully.  I'll baby the throttle most of the time.
