Wanted: Speaker Grill
« on: December 12, 2015, 06:58:16 PM »
I'm looking for a rear speaker grill for the right side of a '96 K1100LT.  It's got the factory setup with the speakers that sit on top of the top box.  A long shot, I know.  The left and right grills are different, but I think I could make a left work on the right.  It would certainly be better than nothing!

Here's hoping...

Post up a picture of what you have, AFAIK the stock speaker "grill" for the rear trunk is a 'one piece unit'.
Sounds like someone may have installed something aftermarket.

Doh!
Pictures ... what a concept!
Here 'tis.  The grills (grilles?) are definitely separate pieces from the lump of rubber that covers the speaker assembly.  They are made of ABS or some other hard plastic, and are glued into a slot around the openings.  The only thing that makes the left and right different is a rabbet, and it would make a fraction of an inch's difference how deep they fit into the opening.  It would only be noticeable on close inspection.

arrrrgggh can't post the picture.  May be too big.  I'll resample and try again.
