belly pan mounting bolt sizes?
« on: November 01, 2015, 04:30:50 AM »
Hi folks, it's kind of a longshot, but I'd like to know the sizes of the bolts required to mount up the belly pan to my 86 brick. I need to know for both the bracket to motor, and belly pan to bracket bolts. I've not got access to any hardware and need to order some up from the internet, hoping to do it once and do it right! Thanks in advance! :riding:

Click on number 46 of the categories on this page, olivertwisto. then scroll to the belly pan diagram and click on it. The parts and their descriptions are usually shown on the right according to their number on the diagram.

Would like to add that it is two different versions, 8V and 16V.
Diagram # 46 0170 shows the 8V version.
Diagram # 46 0309 shows the mounting parts for the 16V version.
Both will fit a 8V tho..

I'm guessing you've got your answer by now, but if you're still looking, go to realoem.com .  Enter the site>enter the last 7 digits of your VIN and you'll have everything you'll need, i.e. part #'s, bolt sizes and so on. This site has been awesome for me as I do an off-frame rebuild.

Thanks guys. The good news is, the parts fiche got me started in the right direction. The bad news is that some of the listed sizes are incorrect. Fortunately I've found a place nearby that has lots of fasteners so I've been able to get what I need. Anyway, All's well that ends well, cheers for the assistance!

Strange, it looks correct to me...........I assume you have the bracket for the 8V version...?

The bolts on the RHS is w/o a head so you slide the bracket onto these bolts...note the rubber bushings.

On the LHS it's rubber mounts between the bracket and the sump, these have male threads for the sump
on one side and female threads for the screws on the other side.
