Seems I've sprung a leak.
« on: October 31, 2015, 12:56:08 PM »
So "Hanz" seems to have sprung an oil leak. / When I pulled the boot off the sensor (what sensor is that?) It was full of oil. I'm assuming that is what is leaking or I need to inspect the filter cover gasket. /sigh

That be the oil pressure sending unit.

I'd clean/degrease the whole area 1st, then see if you can find where it's leaking from.

There could be multiple places on the front of the engine where the oil could be leaking from:

oil pump shaft seal/weep hole
cam chain cover
oil pump joint where it joins the block
oil pressure sender

A filter cover o-ring leak wouldn't be putting oil on the front of the engine.

Thanks for the insight. I the is parked for the winter so I'll definitely do that. I gotta make sure this bike is in better shape before I start pouring money into mods.
