Hello from Surrey UK
« on: September 15, 2015, 10:20:41 AM »
Hey guys, just wanted to say hello and share my new(ish) bike. I just managed to buy an '86 K100RS with only 40k miles (and have all the bills and paperwork to prove it) for £1200, with me as the 4th owner in its short 29 years. I loved this bike as soon as I saw it and had to have it, especially since its older than me by 6 years!

Here's the part everyone cares about > http://imgur.com/a/X1HzV#0

I know what my plans are with the bike are seen as sacrilegious to most of you but I'm making the bike into a ... *shudder* cafe racer. Though you may take peace of mind that this will not be a budget build, I am willing to put as much money into the bike to make it perfect and to give it the justice it deserves (in fact I've already put in more money than I bought the bike for). I am also planning to do a nut and bolt rebuild of the engine, replacing everything that seems slightly worn or anything to give me peace of mind.

My plan is to start a thread documenting my process, but will start that once I have gotten further into the build. I have managed to find a Belly pan/spoiler/fairing (I think they look brilliant) and am willing to make a mould of one, so that they can be replicated, if it hasn't already been done.

As I am making a cafe racer, I am removing/replacing parts which I will no longer be needing, which I will be looking into selling at a later date for those who need them. The list of parts as it stands now, I will be selling;
> RS Fairings
> Stock Exhaust (not header pipes)
> Speedo/Tacho Unit (in really great condition, and according to my paperwork, hasn't broken down like most do)
> Seat
> Tail section
> Rear Sets
> Side & Top luggage boxes (as well as mounts)
> More things to come!
