Slight blue haze on startup. No side stand use!

I know If the brick is on its side stand oil can seep into the combustion chamber.   I do not use the side stand but only to get off the bike.  Then on the center it goes.  68000 miles.  Well kept.  Oil always changed
Since i have owned the bike I've never seen blue smoke.  I was sitting on the bike choke 1 and saw in mirror blue haze and smelled oil burning.  Can't explain.  Going to monitor.  Normal sometimes?

It can happen even on the centerstand. My theory is that if the engine stops with one piston's valve's closed on the compression stroke, as the charge cools it will create a vacuum that can draw oil past the rings.  I quit using the centerstand years ago, let the engine idle for a moment leaning to the right before I shut it off.  Smokes about 1 out of 10 times.  Nothing to worry about.

Very interesting.  I'm going to start an oil consumption test here soon when I change the oil.  Ill try the idle to the right. I like the idea

if my garage fills with blue haze when i start my motobrick... i know my exhaust valves are adjusted properly...

Are there no exhaust stem seals on these engines?

It's normal for your K-bike to blow a little blue smoke.  If it blows a lot of blue smoke, then there's a problem.

Years ago my brick used to smoke after the side stand parking stunt. I just got the bike back and have been riding and parking on side stand. I try to remember to lean bike to right side for a bit before getting off, and have had no smoking issues. I'm beginning to think the brand/model of oil in engine plays a part in the smoke thing. I've heard that older Goldwings did the same thing....
