burning wires... stinky
« on: July 06, 2015, 01:10:52 AM »
So, I was working on my bike. Replacing 25 year old fuel lines, ethanol clogged fuel filters... you know the drill.

I turned the bike on to ensure the fuel pump was working before putting it all back together. I smelled and saw smoke coming up from under the temporary location of the tank. The culprit was still hot after I killed everything, removed the keys and moved the tank again. What circuit is this? Anyone know? Looks like it heads toward the front instrument panel. What's going on?

Ok, traced them. It's the heated grips. I broke them a while back. Will it mess anything up if I just disconnect this?

You can disconnect the heated grips without messing anything up.
